Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s relationship has been more on and off than the average light switch. And in early 2020 rumors began surfacing that the pair had once again rekindled their flame. Shortly after, Kylie’s young nephew took to Instagram to apparently set the record straight once and for all.

Born just before Christmas in 2009, Mason Dash Disick is the first child of Kourtney Kardashian and fellow reality TV star Scott Disick. He became one of the most famous babies in the world, having arrived on camera during season four of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And he’s been a regular of the E! show ever since.

And it seems as though the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, because Mason has already developed a reputation as something of a dedicated follower of fashion. He has also become au fait with the Kardashian social media platform of choice: Instagram.

But Mason’s early adoption of the popular photo-sharing site landed him in a spot of trouble in March 2020. For the youngster hosted a session on Instagram Live where he was asked a series of questions about his celebrity family. And he was all too happy to share some Kardashian secrets.

Unfortunately for Mason, a loose tongue ensured that his attempt to become Instagram-famous ended before it had truly begun. Having spilled the beans about his aunt Kylie’s relationship with the chart-topping rapper Travis Scott, the young boy was given the punishment every Instagram user fears. His parents deleted his account.

Mason has two siblings and no fewer than seven cousins. But as the first Kardashian grandchild to come along, he apparently shares a stronger bond with Kris Jenner. The momager was a regular presence in the youngster’s early years and reportedly encouraged his cheeky sense of humor.

And Kris certainly isn’t afraid to spoil her first grandson. In 2019 the reality star took Mason out on a shopping trip to celebrate his birthday and she treated him to a new coat. Of course, this wasn’t just any ordinary garment. It was a Baroque Printed Padded Coat designed by Versace that reportedly cost a whopping $3,000.

Mason also isn’t afraid to indulge in a bit of pampering either. In a video chat with Harper’s Bazaar, his mother revealed, “… I just went through a whole skincare routine with him. We started, we did a mask, we did everything, we wrote down all the steps and we put it in a drawer in his bathroom and he loves to do it and feel like, you know, he’s taking care of his skin.”

Unsurprisingly, Mason has also been a regular fixture of his parents’ various social media profiles. When he reached double figures in December 2019, his mother uploaded a pic to Instagram captioned, “Happiest tenth birthday to the boy who changed my heart forever. No one is cooler or sweeter than you.”

And having celebrated his 10th birthday, Mason became the same age as his aunt Kylie Jenner when she was launched to fame back in 2007. The star was initially just a supporting character in Keeping Up with the Kardashians. But as Kylie blossomed into a young woman she became just as integral to the show as her older siblings.

In 2018 Kylie revealed to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia how she felt about being thrust into the limelight at such a young age. She said, “Honestly, I don’t remember a time when I did have privacy. I feel like I just grew up in it and so I figured out a way of living that is comfortable for me.”

Kylie went on to add, “I do love sharing and inspiring and bringing people into my life. I feel like I was definitely made to do what I do.” However, this opinion on the fame that being a Kardashian family member brings certainly isn’t always shared by Kylie’s half-sister and Mason’s mother.

In 2019 Kourtney Kardashian shocked the reality TV world when she announced she was taking a step back from the show that made her name. The socialite also told Paper magazine that she may retire from the spotlight altogether at some point in the near future.

Kourtney said, “I always say I want to move away someday and just be away from it all. Sail away. No one will ever see me again… I keep throwing up different places, but then I’ll go there to visit and I’ll be like, ‘Nope, this isn’t it, but glad I came.’”

And Kourtney also hopes that her three children won’t pursue a career in reality TV when they’re older. While appearing on The Real Daytime that year, she said, “If they want to do it, I think it’s whatever their dreams are. I definitely would never push them to do it and it’s not something that I’m hoping they’re going to do.”

But Kourtney initially didn’t have any qualms about allowing Mason to launch himself as a social media star. In fact, she even goofed around with her son in various clips he posted to TikTok after opening an account with the platform in January 2020. And he soon amassed quite the following.

Thanks to some guidance from one of TikTok’s biggest stars – David Dobrik – Mason quickly bagged nearly 80,000 followers. He also collected more than 115,000 likes for his various uploads on the platform. These included showing fans the skincare regimen he adheres to every day and his participation in the Global.Jones dance craze.

Having conquered the world of TikTok in a relatively short period of time, Mason then switched his attention to another social media platform: Instagram. Once again, he quickly built up a large following and pretty soon he was hosting his own Instagram Live sessions. However, one in particular caused a whole lot of drama.

For reference, the furore centered on Mason’s aunt Kylie and her relationship with rapper Travis Scott. The high-profile pair have been on/off ever since they first got together in 2017, but they officially appeared to call it a day two years later. However, with the pair choosing to self-isolate together with their daughter Stormi, speculation that they had reunited once again reached fever pitch.

Since early 2020 Kylie and Travis have been apparently getting on like a house on fire. The A-list pair were pictured enjoying some family time together in Disneyland. While the rapper also helped to organize a glitzy birthday bash for his young daughter, complete with its very own fun fair.

An anonymous insider allegedly told Entertainment Tonight that March that Kylie and Travis were definitely back on. The source said, “The couple has always had love and respect for one another but took a break last year because they both had so much going on. They couldn’t fully focus on what it took to make the relationship work.”

They continued, “Kylie exploded in the makeup world and was busy making a billion dollar business and Travis was on tour and working on music. Although things haven’t slowed down much for the duo, they’re better able to handle it. At the end of the day, the couple is happy to have their family back together.”

Kylie also courted attention by posting intimate throwback photos of herself and Travis on her Instagram account. And she supported one of his business endeavors with Nike by posing in a pair of his sneakers in another shot uploaded to the photo-sharing platform. However, if they were back together, several of Kylie’s nearest and dearest didn’t get the memo.

Firstly, her older sister Kim appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where she quashed speculation about the couple. When asked by the host if Kylie and Travis were back on, she replied, “No, I honestly don’t know. But I think that they are really just close friends and co-parenting amazingly.”

Who knows whether Kim was just being coy about the matter or whether she genuinely wasn’t aware of her sister’s relationship status. But the rumors didn’t die down. And shortly after, Kylie’s young nephew Mason waded in on the subject when he took to Instagram Live for a Q and A session with his followers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, one of the questions Mason was asked related to his aunt Kylie’s on/off relationship. But without the extensive media training that the rest of his family have presumably undertaken, Mason gave what he believed to be a truthful answer. He announced, “No, Kylie and Travis are not back together.”

Despite the fact that Kylie is unlikely to confide in Mason about the state of her love life, Mason’s comments still made headline news. But the youngster’s willingness to share family secrets came at a cost; he was subsequently forced to delete his Instagram profile by his mother.

Kourtney may have been happy for her eldest son to dance around and share skincare tips on TikTok. But she wasn’t particularly keen on him giving tabloids even more fuel with his own Instagram account. And she later took to the photo-sharing platform herself to explain her choice of punishment.

In an Instagram Live session conducted alongside her BFF of many years – Sarah Howard – Kourtney told her huge amount of followers, “I did delete it because Scott and I just felt like he isn’t [old enough]. He’s ten. I think there’s an age limit with Instagram. I think it’s 13.”

“I think the thing that really worries me with kids is, people can be so mean,” Kourtney continued. The star then discussed her concerns over how easy it is to become consumed by Instagram. She added, “Once in a while, I may respond to a negative comment for fun, or if something really does bother me I definitely have the platform to correct it. But I usually don’t think twice.”

However, Kourtney went on to admit that there’s one particular type of feedback that upsets her more than any other. She continued, “No matter what it is that I am doing, someone has something to say, good or bad. The worst, though, is when people I don’t know give unsolicited parenting advice.”

And it turns out that Mason may have been a bit sneaky when it came to using Instagram. Kourtney claimed that she’d initially set her son’s account to private so that he could only communicate with those he knew. However, the youngster then allegedly went behind her back and turned the settings back to public.

So what did the woman at the center of all the drama feel about Mason’s apparent revelation? Well, it seems as though she wasn’t particularly bothered by it. While live-tweeting an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians in which her nephew made an appearance, Kylie posted, “Mase is too cute…”

Kylie got tongues wagging herself once again the following month when she posted a picture of a sparkly new diamond ring on her Instagram account. The reality star had her followers questioning whether the ring could be an engagement one. And if that’s the case, then according to an unnamed source, no one would be more delighted than Kris Jenner.

The insider allegedly The Sun Online, “Kris doesn’t want anyone jerking her daughters around. She’s told Travis to put a ring on it and commit to a second baby. Kylie would never put down rules like that, but she’s made no secret about wanting another baby and commitment from him.”

As for Mason, his Instagram secret-spilling session certainly wasn’t the last of all the social media drama. Just a few weeks later the youth once again made headlines when he started an online war of words with a YouTube star. Mason was appearing alongside Addison Rae on TikTok when he was asked which beauty guru he prefers.

Mason replied, “I don’t really watch makeup YouTubers, but I think James [Charles] – he’s really nice. Because Jeffree Star is, like, spoiled AF.” Unsurprisingly the beauty vlogger – who Forbes reports has earned a whopping $18 million in 2018 just from his YouTube activities – didn’t take Mason’s comments lying down.

Jeffree, who is also a DJ and singer-songwriter, quickly took to Twitter to post his riposte. He wrote, “I had $500 in my bank account six years ago. Maybe he’s [Mason] confused with his own privilege versus mine being self-made. Hopefully his father can educate him soon!” However, Jeffree deleted the tweet shortly after.

Some believe that Mason would be better off quitting social media altogether. On a Reddit thread about his online conduct, one poster commented, “I’m kind of worried for this kid, in the TikTok he’s talking about how he could have millions of followers if they didn’t delete it. He already seems to put a lot of stock in fame and status.”

Mason hosted both of his offending sessions while he was staying with his mother and siblings. Kourtney revealed on Instagram Live that she was looking after her kids for five days, while their father was taking care of them for the other two. She and Scott split in 2015 after nine years together.
