Unsurprisingly, the smaller the dog breed is, the fewer puppies they tend to have in a litter. Consequently, smaller chihuahua breeds birth anywhere from one to three babies per pregnancy. Even the bigger chihuahua breeds don’t generally have more than five puppers, though.
